Free Bikram Basics Class/ Discussion Sunday January 20th at 11am

What's a locked knee? What do if I have to pee? 

This non-heated 60 minute Bikram Basics Class is specifically designed for students who are new to the Bikram Series.  We will explain Pranayama breathing, how to lock the knee, yoga etiquette and will be followed by a Q&A. All current students are welcome to this first Bikram Basics Class.

Come as you are. Begin where you are at.

 In preparation for your first class, please make sure you are well hydrated, with an empty stomach, lightweight clothing, and ready to sweat!  Please make your best effort to reduce your scent. (perfumes, smoke etc.) You will also need to bring a yoga mat and bath towel.  If you do not have one, don't sweat it - we rent it!

About Us

The Original Hot Yoga

The Bikram Yoga series consists of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises. (*AKA 26&2) The yoga is designed to rejuvenate and strengthen the entire body while improving flexibility. All 26&2 Yoga classes are 90 minutes. 

This yoga is a consistent, therapeutic practice for beginners of all ages. It has been practiced in the same form since the early 1970's and is supported by scientific research. Of the various forms of yoga available today, it has the most direct roots to the physical culture and yoga therapy movements of early-mid 20th century Calcutta, India.

Lineage

Bishnu Ghosh 

Bikram Choudhury began yoga with Bishnu Ghosh, the younger brother of Paramahansa Yogananda (author of "Autobiography of a Yogi") and founder of the "Self Realization Fellowship" in Los Angeles. Ghosh was a celebrated physical culturist and the first to scientifically document Yoga's ability to heal the body. Bikram devised the 26 posture and 2 breathing exercise sequence that has a profound healing power on the body and mind. This sequence has directed millions of people around the world toward a healthy life.
